From October 11 to 13, Solis Breast Care & Surgery Centre, Luma Women’s Imaging Centre, and the International Academy of Pathology (Singapore Division) proudly hosted the Singapore Breast Multidisciplinary Conference (SBMC) 2024 at the PARKROYAL on Beach Road.
The conference united over 450 medical professionals—surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, and pathologists—from across the globe, fostering collaboration and the exchange of expertise. This gathering highlighted the power of teamwork in advancing breast cancer care, with sessions focusing on advancements in screening technologies, early diagnosis, and innovative surgical approaches. By reinforcing the significance of a multidisciplinary approach, SBMC 2024 emphasised that comprehensive and collaborative care is key to saving lives.
The event featured a rich program, including lectures, hands-on workshops, case study discussions, and a public forum for patients and survivors. A special highlight was the 2nd Minimally Invasive Breast Surgery Symposium (MIBSS), held in conjunction with SBMC. Here, 35 breast surgical specialists witnessed a live single-port, single-incision endoscopic nipple-sparing mastectomy, led by Dr. Sabrina Ngaserin, at Sengkang General Hospital.
At the public forum, we welcomed 100 courageous “pink warriors”—breast cancer survivors—and their loved ones, eager to embrace life beyond cancer. They explored how to thrive post-treatment, with discussions on an integrated East-West approach to survivorship. Local singer and guest speaker Joanna Dong inspired the audience by sharing her personal journey, bringing hope and encouragement to all.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our international and local faculty, sponsors, partners, organisers, and attendees for making this transformative three-day event a success. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of breast cancer care, stronger and more united than ever in our fight to conquer this disease
